Children discover new strengths when they have opportunities to try many things. Encore gives GCA students time to explore interests, develop practical skills, express ideas, solve problems, and sometimes discover a talent or passion they did not know they had.
Education should give children more ways to discover what engages them.
Alongside strong academic foundations, students need opportunities to make, build, grow, perform, communicate, experiment, and explore. Encore brings those experiences into the school week as a meaningful part of learning.

Encore is organized around four broad areas that invite students to explore the world, develop skills, and discover new interests.
Learn by growing, making, and doing.
Students connect learning with food, nature, practical life, stewardship, and the work of caring for themselves and the world around them.
Imagine, test, solve, and improve.
Students engage with technology, engineering, experimentation, design, and problem-solving while learning to turn ideas into something they can test and refine.
Develop a voice through creative expression.
The arts give students another language for thinking, communicating, experimenting, and understanding themselves and others.
Learn to connect across languages and cultures.
Students develop confidence communicating ideas while gaining exposure to other languages, cultures, perspectives, and ways of seeing the world.
Exploration is part of learning.
A child may discover confidence through performing, patience through gardening, curiosity through robotics, independence through cooking, or a new way of thinking through learning another language.
These experiences are not separate from a child's development. They can help students become more resourceful, creative, capable, and willing to try something unfamiliar.
Children cannot discover their strengths without opportunities to explore.
Encore gives students room to try something unfamiliar, practice a skill, pursue an interest, and learn more about themselves in the process. Over time, those experiences help children recognize what energizes them, where they want to grow, and what they may want to pursue more deeply.
